Evaluating Prospects using Base Runs

Base Runs (BsR) created by David Smyth is a popular method of estimating the amount of "runs created". I have used the formula that includes stolen bases and GIDP.

Here are the leaders in BsR year to date:

Tim Federowicz-- 53.49
Anthony Rizzo-- 50.82
Aaron Bates-- 46.68
Jorge Jimenez-- 42.96
Che-Hsuan Lin-- 41.88
Jason Place-- 41.43
David Mailman-- 40.66
Luis Exposito-- 40.27
Paul McAnulty-- 39.94
Lars Anderson-- 38.04

The top three names on the list are not surprising since they are each having strong statistical seasons across the board. It's good to see Anderson is still producing despite a drop in his slugging and batting averages. Also surprising to see Mark Wagner missing from the top 10, his BsR was only 33.53
